Formulas and how they work
A formula helps you analyze data and perform calculations on values on a worksheet. A formula can consist of up to 1024 characters. When you enter a formula the result will be displayed in the cell but the formula itself will be displayed in the formula bar when you select the cell. All formulas must begin with an equal sign (=). Formulas can have;
- Cell References (including named cells and ranges)
- Operators
- Values or Text
- Functions
