Human resource as a career

Posted 11-16-2009 at 11:49 AM by shabbir

An organization is lame without the man power that happens to be the driving force of any particular organization regardless of all the other inputs. Without human input no job however is possible however technology depended they might be .The human resource organization is responsible for this man power planning Any organization with a strong human resource division is sure to excel. It is the members of human resource team of a particular organization you encounter during your panel interview. It is the human resource department of an organization that involves itself in the recruitment of employees. It is the human resource team that is responsible for managing and settling any sort of a problem that an employee has to face with the management.

We can infer from the above that whatever work the human resource does it plays an incredibly important role in any organization. Thus A person can expect to have a very promising career if he pursues a Master degree in business administration in Human resource Management. Being précised HR is the only thing that is solely responsible for the internal marketing of an organization .There is a very valid reason for human resource being avoided by the MBA aspirants as a specialization or a career goal .The fact that Human resource in India has been neglected through out as the more dashing branches of administration like Marketing and Finance has always occupied the front seat. This might have happened for a number of reasons like the salary factor. The salary that had been offered to a Human resource manager till recent times had been a meager amount through out. In recent times the salary structure has considerably improved. Previously corporate organizations particularly in India did not support the educational institutions that churn out HR administrators. There is a general negligence of any person opting for an MBA programme towards Human resource. They take it to be a matter of common sense that hardly demands specialization. Due to this mindset amongst a large number of students avoid Human Resource as a specialization. There is another very strange perception that has been there since a very long time in the mind of students doing MBA. According to the general belief among students Human Resource has less apparent glamour associated with it than other strata’s of a corporate career. This is a very critical reason that has refrained many students from opting HR as a specialization option.

But that entire thing has changed conspicuously in the last few years in India and Human Resource is now amongst coveted careers. The salaries have improved to a huge extent and people are even opting careers Human Resources at the cost of Marketing or a new Finance careers. So pursuing a MBA in HR would be a very intelligent decision given that it has turned out to be an immensely rewarding career option.
