Dealing with Volatile Situation

In a volatile situation, I have seen many queries in the MBA forum relating to the best time to do an MBA. You can also refer to the post by PriyaD

Best time to pursue MBA

There are a lot of investors and high profile investment bankers guessing when the market will bottom out and when worst be over. If it takes couple of years then is this the right time, or we would have too many people jobless in couple of years and that would be hard to get a job. In a volatile market investors at times doubt their beliefs and thus they are diverted from long – term goals and so is the case with the student. In a volatile market, there arise a present opportunity but with a long term horizon.

There are no real secrets towards managing a volatile scenario. The best way to deal with a rough market is to have a good long term plan. However, it is easy to say than to actually do it.

Instead of chasing yesterday’s winners and trends it is better to have a clear long term plan that is matching with your objective and vision in life and what you would like to see you after some years.

I would like to end here by saying that Indian economy will remain one of the fastest growing economies in the world. One should also understand the fact that as the holding period increases, the impact of near – term volatility reduces.
