For managers: Some games go beyond mere entertainment.

Video games strictly for entertainment purposes. Does anyone disagree to this statement? Well, I do. A number of well-designed games do not merely challenge the players’ reflexes, but challenge their mind, encouraging them to devise strategies to outperform the opposition and make best possible use of the scarce resources (rings a bell?)
Here are some games which are must-try-and-play for managers:
Championship Manager:
The player is made a football team manager and he/she has to manage the super-talented and temperamental stars with thronging fans and demanding trophies all time, a cut-the-expenses administration breathing down your neck and balance the glory and headaches that accompany this job. Sounds too familiar, doesn’t it?
Here is what the game website states:
“Championship Manager is the closest you'll ever come to the highs and lows of real football management”
Age of empires:
One of the most popular strategy games, it is all about “build, maintain and conquer” . The player initially with just a hut will have to expand their “empire” include entire countries. This is no easy job, for the player has to grow crops to maintain villages, earn revenue to train soldiers and maintain armies, etc, while all the time making a conscious effort for expansion.
Rollercoaster tycoon:
Amusement/ theme parks are all about fun for us. But think of all the planning and managing that must be going-on behind the scenes to ensure undiluted fun for the visitors. Running a fun park definitely seems a much more serious task. Well, in this game, the player does just that! He/ she will have to take care of all the aspects of running an amusement park- explore new avenues for visitor amusement, ensure well-designed, maintained and safe rides, maintain the staff, etc. Similar to a CEO’s job? Go play, have fun while you train your mind (if you are not already doing it)!
